Making a difference with Blood Donation
SOMEONE LIVES WHEN SOMEONE GIVES
A blood donation camp was organized by the #Marcomms (Marketing Department) of PeopleLink Unified Communications on 27/05/2016 (Friday) at Cyber Towers, Hi-tech City. This CSR campaign drive was organized in collaboration with Friends Charity Organization and Thalassemia & Sickle Cell Society.
The donated blood was transfused to children's affected by thalassemia, an inherited autosomal recessive blood disorder that causes the weakening and destruction of red blood cells. Nearly 2000 children affected by thalassemia are registered with the Thalassemia & Sickle Cell Society and approximately 500-600 children benefit from the daily free blood transfusion provided by the Thalassemia & Sickle Cell Society.
Being the first blood donation drive conducted by us, We could successfully gather total of 171 donors and more than 35 volunteers from different companies participated voluntarily in the camp. The camp helped the People in gaining awareness about thalassemia where donors of different companies from cyber towers and outside came together to participate with great enthusiasm and deepened social awareness among them.
Marcomms could successfully organize the drive thanking all the donors by giving them the donor cards and certificates to all the volunteers. To keep them encouraged & motivated towards such activities, we have taken the pleasure of collecting their autographs on the banner which made them feel proud of donating the blood. Their happiness and enthusiasm was all captured through the Group Selfies, Snaps holding cards with a Message to the society.
This noble cause has shown once again that we at PeopleLink can make a difference, by “giving a little where we live”. It is a fundamental part of our culture, which strives to embed our brand in the hearts and minds of our customers, team members and community partners.
