Computing Modules, Embedded Systems and OPS Modules

This Schedule applies to Products in Annexure A category 10.

The Customer acknowledges that:

(a) solid-state storage has a finite published write endurance (TBW/DWPD);

(b) interruption of power during operation may corrupt the operating system or stored data;

(c) an OPS module installed in a display slot is cooled through that slot, and obstruction of the airflow path causes thermal stress.

The following shall constitute a defect:

(a) failure of the mainboard, processor, integrated graphics, or any factory-fitted memory or storage;

(b) failure of factory-fitted storage within its published endurance rating;

(c) failure of any pin or interface of the OPS connector to the published pin-out;

(d) thermal throttling below published sustained performance, or thermal shutdown, with the airflow path unobstructed and within the rated ambient range;

(e) failure to complete POST and boot the factory-supplied configuration.

(a) Storage wear beyond the published endurance rating;

(b) corruption of the operating system, software or data, including that following power interruption;

(c) degraded performance attributable to customer-installed software or storage utilisation;

(d) malware or virus damage;

(e) expiry or invalidity of software licences;

(f) depletion of the CMOS cell, which is a consumable.

Memory, storage or expansion devices fitted otherwise than by PeopleLink, and any damage consequent upon their fitting, are excluded. The fitting of such parts shall not otherwise avoid cover in respect of unaffected components.

Re-imaging, operating system reinstallation, virus removal, driver installation for third-party peripherals and data recovery are chargeable services and do not constitute warranty work.

Ventilation and clearance per the installation manual, including an unobstructed display slot for OPS modules; stabilised supply as per S1.6(b).

Return-to-base service as standard. Where the module is installed in a PeopleLink display under warranty, on-site exchange shall be effected in the same visit.

Cooling fans, thermal pads and CMOS cells — twelve (12) months.
