Interactive Display Panels, Boards and Whiteboards
Schedule 2 to the PeopleLink Warranty Policy, applicable to Products in Annexure A category 2.
S2.1 Application
This Schedule applies to Products in Annexure A category 2. For Installed Systems, the Warranty Period commences on the Commissioning Date.
S2.2 Acknowledged characteristics
The Customer acknowledges that:
(a) LCD panels may exhibit a small number of pixel faults consistent with industry manufacturing standards;
(b) temporary image retention which dissipates upon display of moving content is an inherent characteristic of LCD technology;
(c) in conditions of high humidity, temperature differentials within the panel may cause transient condensation spotting between the cell glass and film, which is mitigated by regular powered operation.
S2.3 Pixel policy
Pixel faults shall be assessed in accordance with ISO 9241-307, Class II. A panel shall be deemed defective where, per one million pixels, it exhibits more than two (2) permanently lit pixels, more than two (2) permanently dark pixels, or more than five (5) defective sub-pixels; or where two (2) or more faulty pixels of any type occur within any block of 5 × 5 pixels, irrespective of the foregoing counts. Pixel faults within these limits shall not constitute a defect.
S2.4 System responsiveness
The Customer acknowledges that the responsiveness of an interactive panel is determined not only by the panel hardware but also by the embedded operating system, the applications installed and data stored upon it, any connected source, computing, the cabling and signal path, the network, and any third-party or wireless presentation software in use, and that perceptible lag commonly arises from one or more of the foregoing rather than from the panel itself. Accordingly, lag, latency, freezing or degraded responsiveness shall constitute a defect only where the panel, tested in its factory-default state following a factory reset, using the native application supplied by PeopleLink, with no third-party application installed or running and no external device connected, fails to achieve the touch latency and touch report rate stated in the applicable datasheet within a tolerance of ± twenty per cent (20%). Completion of L1 remote diagnosis and of a factory reset in accordance with the product manual shall be a condition precedent to any claim under this clause, and where no defect is established, any diagnosis, re-imaging or optimisation undertaken by PeopleLink shall be chargeable in accordance with Clause 12 of the Policy.
S2.5 Defects
Without limiting Clause 4 of the Policy, the following shall constitute a defect:
(a) backlight failure, or luminance non-uniformity ("mura") exceeding ± fifteen per cent (15%);
(b) touch registration deviating by more than ± 2 mm from the point of contact after recalibration;
(c) any zone of the touch surface unresponsive to touch, irrespective of size;
(d) phantom or ghost touches persisting after cleaning of the touch frame in accordance with the product manual; and
(e) delamination or spontaneous failure of the glass not attributable to impact.
S2.6 Matters not constituting a defect
(a) The matters acknowledged in S2.2;
(b) permanent image retention arising from static content (Clause 7.1(l) of the Policy);
(c) degraded performance of the embedded operating system remediable by clearing storage, factory reset or firmware update;
(d) glass breakage or damage attributable to impact.
S2.7 Conditions of cover
Cover is conditional upon:
(a) earthing and power supply as per S1.6(a)–(b);
(b) mounting in accordance with the installation manual on structures of the specified load rating;
(c) in high-humidity conditions, the panel being powered for not less than four (4) hours in every twenty-four (24) hours;
(d) cleaning only with agents specified by PeopleLink.
S2.8 Service
PeopleLink shall determine, at its sole discretion, whether warranty service under this Schedule is rendered on-site or by return of the affected part to PeopleLink. Where PeopleLink so requires, the Customer shall dismount and despatch the device and An OPS module installed in the panel is governed by Schedule 10.
S2.9 Wear parts
Stylus, pen tips, remote controls carry a warranty of six (6) months.
