Kerala State Information Technology Mission is an autonomous nodal IT implementation agency for Department of Information Technology, Government of Kerala established in 1999. A society registered under the Travancore Cochin Literary Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act (Act 12 of 1955), Kerala State Information Technology Mission (KSITM) provides managerial support to various IT initiatives of the state government.

Business Requirement / Challenges

Kerala State Information Technology Mission (KSITM) constantly works towards enabling the State machinery with ICT related advancements to ensure a seamless connectivity of the most distressed rural areas which lack basic Infrastructure. They also work at automating and modernizing the Central Control Centre (The Chief Ministerʼs Chamber) to be able to connect with all. KSITM was looking at Upgrading the existing setup at the CM Chamber wherein the technologies employed were either outdated or not in line with the propensity of the operations managed from the office.

Evaluation Committee

Kerala State Information Technology Mission (KSITM) being an autonomous nodal IT implementation agency for Department of Information Technology, Government of Kerala did the complete due diligence in evaluating the technologies available in the market. It was PeopleLink which has been associated with the government bodies in the past and has shown its unmatched capabilities towards connecting people. PeopleLink platform was used in the past during the launch of NOFN at Idukki (Kerala) to connect the remotest village of the country along with various other Gram Panchayats.

Rare Connectivity on Display

The Chief Minister of Kerala had conducted a Live Video call with the district for the Inauguration of “Haritha Keralam”. The call was setup from the same CM Chamber which was upgraded for its AV Technology and connected on PeopleLink Collaboration. It is being viewed as a major step in enabling the Government with visual technology to enhance their eGovernance practices.

Solution Deployed

The solution proposed for the CM Chamber is now automated with a plethora of AV Components to enhance the experience of the collaboration. The room is equipped with a video wall setup & control, Audio setup with a comprehensive set of microphones, Speakers, Amplifiers etc. PeopleLink solution being used is optimally utilized to help in governance.

Business Results Achieved By Using PeopleLink

  • The Solutions deployed is in synchronization to Kerala Government’s digital movement. The hon’ble Chief Minister himself is the flag bearer of the technological advancement adopted by his office
